Alumni – I have a few updates and a request for volunteers.
Chapter Update
The Chapter is heading towards the end of the Semester. They were able to initiate a total of 9 members from the Fall class. Two weekends ago the Vice-Archon did a recruitment retreat for the new initiates in preparation for Spring recruitment.
Alumni/Active Career Night (Sunday, Nov 13 @ 5 pm Pacific)
Online career night last spring was so popular among the Actives, they have asked us for another one this semester which is scheduled for Sunday, November 13 @ 5:00 PST. As always, our number one goal is to expose them to the types of jobs that might be available to them in the years after Cal so that they might find the best fit sooner than we did. The alumni board is also hoping some of us might give some reassuring advice on how to navigate a slowing job market as it’s understandable the students do not have any context.
The format will be Alumni introduction with a short summary of their careers and then breakout rooms with 4-8 total people broken out into career areas such as Medicine, Law, Sales & Marketing, etc. If you are interested in participating please Contact Us so we can send you a calendar invite.
Related to concerns about scarcity of full-time jobs and internships, if you are aware of any entry level position openings for recent graduates, please consider sending them our way or posting them in the Gamma Alumni LinkedIn Group.
