Chapter Updates
The chapter initiated 12 new members from the Fall pledge class last month. Spring Rush information will be sent out in January.
Stephen Deftos Memorial Tree Re-Dedication
On Saturday, 11/9 over 40 people gathered to re-dedicate the Stephen Deftos Memorial Tree just South of Moffitt Library. Approximately 30 undergraduate members and 12+ alumni (Al Flor, Mike Orias, Bill Bloore, Greg Douglas, Aaron Sage, Todd DiPaola, Emery Dora, Gordon Mohr, Greg Rising, Ryan Panos, Chris Curtis, John Doyle Mason, Zach Brown and others) joined Stephen’s mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law and nephew in the re-dedication. Stephen’s family was very appreciative of the turnout and was surprised to hear that he is still remembered every semester along with two other brothers that were taken prematurely from us as a pledge class activity. A detailed article will be included in an upcoming Gammazette. Many thanks to all that attended and to those whose donations made the re-planting possible.
Founder’s Day Info
Our Founder’s Day celebration is scheduled for Saturday, 12/7 at 6:30 pm at the David Brower Center (Allston Way) in Berkeley. Cost is $80/couple or $45/person. A pre-event reception will be hosted at the Chapter House starting at 5 pm. The event will go from 6:30 pm until between 8:30 – 9 pm. As of this listing, we have approximately ten alumni + dates attending.
