A couple of quick updates.
Chapter Updates:
- The Chapter is in the middle of rush. Formal Rush started on Friday, 8/24 and runs until Thursday, 8/30. The Chapter currently has 3 pledges and has extended 12 bids.
- Thursday, 8/30 at 7 pm the Chapter will be holding bid night. They are encouraging alumni to come by. Please let me know asap if you plan to drop by the Chapter House for Bid Night on Thursday, 8/30 at 7 pm. We’d love to get your help in closing out the pledge class.
- As previously communicated, the Chapter hosted an on-campus event at Pauley Ballroom called Kap Slap on Saturday, 8/25. The event was put together to raise awareness and funds for PUSH America and to get our name out on campus during the start of rush. Overall they sold over 500 tix but fell short of the break even of approx. 610 tix. The event ended up costing between $1,000 – $2,000 but the Chapter feels it was a success due to the awareness it raised for PUSH America and the Chapter during the start of rush.

We still need some sponsors ($100) for all of the football pre-game tailgates except Big Game. Here is the updated Sponsor list:

Let me know if you’d like to Sponsor a game. Also, Alcohol is BYOB at Fraternities now. I’m collecting a $10 donation on behalf of each alumni so that we can buy beers and set them aside for alumni. Let me know if you plan to come by the house for pre/post game and want to chip in. You can pay me or the designated alum the $10 when you show up. I’ll be collecting at the Nevada game.
Cal vs Ohio St on 9/15
A few of us are planning to the attend the game. So far we have the following alumni going: Freddy and Adrian Fernandez, Greg Douglas, Wael Alzayat, Juan Serrano, Rob Shen, John Li, Reuthanak Tap and one or 2 others. If you’d like to get together for a beer pre/post game with us please let me know.
