Chapter House Updates:
This Summer we have made another significant investment in the Chapter Property in excess of $100K to replace/upgrade all exterior windows and to redo the 3rd floor roof/deck. Photos to come later this Summer. Stop by this Fall to see the improvements.
Alumni/Active Fall Football Tailgate:
As a reminder, the Alumni Association and Chapter have designated the following 2 games as the Alumni/Active focused tailgates for the 2019 football season. The games are:
10/19: OSU vs Cal (Homecoming Weekend)
11/16: USC vs Cal
I will be coordinating Tailgate sponsors for the games. In exchange for a $100 sponsorship you will get a free parking spot. Please let me know if your interested in sponsoring any of these 2 games. Also, Alumni are always welcome to stop by the House on any game day. Discounted alumni parking is also available in the lot.
Cal vs Ole Miss Pi Kapp Tailgate – 9/21
A group of alumni are coordinating pre-game festivities for the Cal vs Ole Miss game in Oxford. We are planning to have a pre-game tailgate in “The Grove”. The tailgate will be set up and taken down by a local catering company that does this every home game. Food and Beverages will be provided. Our goal is to have 20-25 Pi Kapps/Friends in attendance. Cost/person will be in the $75-$90/person range including food/beverages. So far we have almost 20 rsvp’s. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. Also, if anyone is interested in tickets I will be making a purchase through the Cal ticket office in the Cal section (section K) on Monday, 7/29. Tix are $58/ea + tax/fees. Please let me know if you’re interested in joining the tailgate or sitting with us.
Deftos/Chang/Schad Memorial Activity – Friday, 10/18 @ 8 pm:
The Memorial pledge activity is scheduled for Friday, 10/18 at 8 pm. This is the night before the Homecoming game vs OSU. The activity brings together alumni/actives to educate the new members about how precious and short life can be by remembering 3 brothers from different era’s that were taken too soon from us. Alumni meet at Freehouse (College/Bancroft) between 6:30-7 pm. Please let me know if you can join us.
Chapter Advisor – Volunteer Requested:
As previously communicated, Nick Travaglini stepped down after several years of service at the end of the Spring Semester. We are still looking for a volunteer to serve and replace Nick. If interested please let us know.
Undergrad Career Contact Request – Automotive Industry:
As communicated frequently, Alumni Career connections are one of the biggest reasons undergrads join Fraternities. Kevin Chung is an undergrad (graduates in May ’20) majoring in Mechanical Engineering who is looking for internships or entry-level jobs within the automotive industry. He’s interested in jobs located in California, Texas or Washington states. He’s also very interested in Tesla and BMW.
If you want to broadcast any opportunities for undergrads please let us know and we’ll share with the Chapter Archon.
