Chapter Updates
As some of you heard we had a successful Fall Rush with over 15 pledges. A month into the Pledge Semester we have 13 pledges still in the pledge class.
Homecoming/Family Day
Homecoming/Family Day will be celebrated on Saturday, 10/5 at the Chapter House before the Washington St. football game. All alumni/family/friends are encouraged to stop by and check out the Chapter and meet the undergrads. We currently have 2 alumni that have volunteered to sponsor ($100/ea) the WSU pre-game tailgate. Let me know if you’d like to make a $100 donation in exchange for a parking spot at the Chapter House.
UCLA Pre-Game Tailgate
Saturday, 10/12 Frank Winton Sr, Frank Winton Jr., myself and other SoCal Pi Kapp Gamma Alumni/Family/Friends will be hosting a pre-game tailgate for the undergrad members that come down for the game. Game time is set for 7:30 pm. Plan is to start the tailgate when the gates open. That time is still TBD but we expect we will be up and going between 1 and 2 pm. Any folks that want to join are invited to rsvp by this Friday, 10/4. We are asking for $20 donations/person if drinking or $10/person if not. Please let me know if you are planning to join.
Pre-Game Tailgate Opportunities
As listed above and in other email communications, we are looking for alumni to volunteer to sponsor ($100 donation) pre-game tailgates in exchange for a parking space at the Chapter House. Here is where we stand for the season:
10/5 vs WSU: Cory Dean, Duncan Ng, (Still need 2-3 more sponsors)
10/19 vs OSU: Greg Rising, (Still Need 3-4 more sponsors)
11/2 vs UofA: JD Mason, (Still Need 3-4 more sponsors)
11/9 vs USC: Scott Keller, Zein Obaji, (Still need 2-3 more sponsors)
Let me know asap if you’d like to sponsor a game. Also, if you plan to attend and want to contribute to the alumni refreshment fund please paypal me ($10/person) before Thursday of the week of the game your donation. I’ll gather the donations and provide it to the Chapter to get some quality refreshments.
Deftos Tree/Re-Dedication Update
Per previous emails, The Stephen Deftos Memorial Tree has been scheduled for re-planting since late last Winter. Tree is purchased and should be planted either this week or next in the same location as before. I’ve been working with Stephen’s Mother (Linda) and we’ve settled on the morning of Saturday, 11/9 before the USC home game as the re-dedication date. She’d like to do something similar to what was done before and hopes that some of his classmates will be able to attend. I’ve got a few commitments already but hope that a lot of you will be able to join. Let me know if you are interested in attending and need more info.
Also, We plan to do the Deftos/Chang/Schad Memorial Pledge Activity the Friday night before (around 8 pm) so please let me know if you’ll be able to join for that as well.
Founder’s Day
Founder’s Day is scheduled for either Friday, 12/6 or Saturday, 12/7 in the evenings. If you are interested in attending and want more info please reply back to me.
